NVMe over Fabrics

NVMe over Fabrics (NVMe-oF) is a technology that enables high-speed communication between storage devices and computers over a network. It uses the NVMe protocol, designed specifically for fast solid-state drives (SSDs), and extends it across various network fabrics like Ethernet or Fibre Channel. This allows remote storage devices to operate with latency and performance similar to directly attached drives, making data access quicker and more efficient in data centers and enterprise environments. Essentially, NVMe over Fabrics combines fast storage technology with flexible networking to improve data transfer speeds and scalability.
