Nuristani
Nuristani refers to a distinct ethnic group and their language native to the Nuristan region in eastern Afghanistan. Nuristanis have a rich cultural heritage and speak Nuristani languages, which are part of the Indo-Iranian language family. Historically, this area was known as Kafiristan, meaning "land of the non-Muslims," until the population converted to Islam in the late 19th century. The Nuristani people maintain unique traditions, customs, and social structures, and they are recognized for their rugged mountainous environment and vibrant cultural practices.
