Nur-Sultan, formerly known as Astana, is the capital city of Kazakhstan, located in the north-central part of the country. It became the capital in 1997, chosen for its strategic location and potential for development. The city is known for its modern architecture, including unique buildings like the Bayterek Tower and the Palace of Peace and Reconciliation. It serves as a political, economic, and cultural hub for Kazakhstan, reflecting the country’s growth and modernization efforts. In 2019, the city was renamed in honor of Nursultan Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan's first President.
