Nuclear Winter
A nuclear winter is a hypothetical global climate event triggered by widespread nuclear explosions. The massive blasts would send immense amounts of smoke, soot, and debris into the atmosphere, blocking sunlight and drastically reducing the Earth’s surface temperatures. This cooling could last for months or years, disrupting agriculture, causing food shortages, and leading to severe ecological and societal impacts. Essentially, the aftermath of nuclear war could create a harsh, prolonged winter-like period that affects life worldwide, similar to a severe volcanic winter, but initiated by human-made nuclear destruction.
