nuclear RNA

Nuclear RNA refers to RNA molecules that are found within the cell’s nucleus, the control center of the cell. They are produced when DNA is transcribed—a process where genetic instructions are copied into RNA. This nuclear RNA includes various types such as pre-messenger RNA (pre-mRNA), which is a precursor to messenger RNA that carries instructions for making proteins. These RNAs are involved in regulating gene expression and processing before they move to the cytoplasm, where they guide protein synthesis. Essentially, nuclear RNA acts as an intermediary, helping cells translate genetic information into functional proteins.
