Nuchal translucency scanning

Nuchal translucency scanning is a prenatal ultrasound measurement that evaluates the clear space at the back of a developing baby's neck during early pregnancy, usually around 11-14 weeks. This fluid-filled area can give clues about the baby’s chromosomal conditions, such as Down syndrome. A larger-than-normal nuchal translucency measurement may indicate an increased risk of genetic issues or other anomalies, prompting further testing. The scan is safe, non-invasive, and helps expectant parents and doctors make informed decisions about additional diagnostics and care.
