Nubian Mastaba
A Nubian Mastaba is an ancient rectangular tomb structure built by the Nubian civilization, located in what is now Sudan. Typically made of mud bricks, it features a flat roof and sloped sides, with an underground burial chamber. These tombs served as lasting homes for the deceased and often included elaborate murals and artifacts to honor them in the afterlife. Unlike Egyptian pyramids, mastabas are more modest in shape but reflect advanced architectural and funerary practices that highlight the importance of ancestor veneration in Nubian culture.
