Nothingness (nihility)
Nothingness, or nihility, refers to a state where there is no matter, energy, or existence—essentially, a complete absence of anything measurable or perceivable. It is a concept often explored in philosophy, physics, and metaphysics to understand the nature of emptiness or the absence of being. In physical terms, true nothingness is impossible to observe directly, as even vacuum states have quantum fluctuations. Philosophically, it challenges our understanding of existence, meaning, and the universe's origin. Ultimately, nothingness describes the boundary or background against which existence is contrasted, highlighting the enigmatic nature of existence itself.
