Norwegian Parliament (Storting)

The Norwegian Parliament, called the Storting, is Norway's national legislative body responsible for passing laws, shaping policies, and overseeing the government. It is a representative democracy with 169 members elected every four years through proportional representation. The Storting debates and approves laws, approves the national budget, and holds the government accountable. It consists of different political parties that represent the diverse interests of Norwegian citizens. The Parliament operates transparently and collaborates closely with the executive branch, primarily the Prime Minister and the Cabinet, to govern the country effectively within the framework of the Norwegian constitution.
