Norwegian monarchy

The Norwegian monarchy is a constitutional monarchy, meaning the king or queen is the ceremonial head of state, while elected officials handle government functions. The monarchy has a long history, with the current monarch, King Harald V, since 1991. The royal family represents Norway nationally and internationally, performing ceremonial duties and promoting unity. Although they have no political power, they play an important symbolic role, embodying tradition, national identity, and continuity.
