Norwegian Carbon Capture and Storage Project

The Norwegian Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from industrial processes, especially at the Sleipner gas platform in the North Sea. It captures carbon dioxide (CO₂) before it enters the atmosphere, compresses it, and injects it deep underground into porous rock formations for permanent storage. This technology helps Norway lower its carbon footprint, supports climate goals, and demonstrates how industries can reduce emissions while continuing operations. It is part of broader efforts to combat climate change through innovative, safe, and effective carbon management.
