Northern Wei history
The Northern Wei was a powerful Chinese dynasty founded by the Tuoba clan of the Xianbei people around 386 CE. It unified northern China during a time of division, adopting Chinese culture and governmental structures while maintaining their own traditions. The dynasty is notable for stabilizing northern China, promoting Buddhism, and fostering cultural and technological advancements. Over time, internal struggles and conflicts with southern regimes led to its decline, culminating in its division into Eastern and Western Wei. The Northern Wei played a key role in shaping medieval China's political, cultural, and religious landscape.
