Northern Song
The Northern Song dynasty, which lasted from 960 to 1127, was a significant period in Chinese history marked by economic prosperity, cultural advancements, and the consolidation of imperial power. It is known for its achievements in art, literature, and technology, such as the invention of movable type printing and advancements in agriculture. The capital was in Kaifeng, a bustling urban center. However, this era ended when the Jurchen people invaded, leading to the establishment of the Southern Song dynasty, which continued for another 200 years. The Northern Song laid the groundwork for many aspects of modern Chinese culture and governance.
