North Sentinel Island
North Sentinel Island is part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in the Indian Ocean, home to the Sentinelese, an indigenous tribe. The Sentinelese have lived in isolation for thousands of years and largely reject outside contact, often responding defensively. The Indian government protects their land to preserve their way of life and prevent disease transmission. Due to their hostility and desire for privacy, laws restrict visitors and island access. The island is known for its pristine environment, and the Sentinelese are among the world's last uncontacted and isolated peoples.
