North American Soccer League
The North American Soccer League (NASL) was a professional soccer league in the United States and Canada that operated primarily from 2011 to 2017. It aimed to elevate soccer's popularity, featuring teams like New York Cosmos and Tampa Bay Rowdies. The league served as a second-tier professional division below Major League Soccer (MLS). NASL was known for its competitive structure, passionate fans, and efforts to grow domestic soccer talent. Despite its ambitions, it faced financial and organizational challenges leading to its suspension and eventual dissolution in 2017.
