Normative Political Theory

Normative Political Theory explores questions about what societies ought to be like and what principles should guide political decisions. It considers ideals such as justice, freedom, equality, and fairness, aiming to establish standards for a good society. Unlike descriptive theories that explain how political systems work, normative theory evaluates and critiques these systems based on moral values, offering guidance on how governments and citizens should behave to promote justice and ethical governance. It helps us reflect on the purpose of political institutions and the ethical foundations of political actions.
