Normandy (French ocean liner)
The SS Normandy was a luxurious French ocean liner launched in 1935, serving transatlantic passenger routes between France and the United States. Known for its elegant Art Deco design and advanced technology, it was among the fastest and most stylish ships of its time. During World War II, it was repurposed as a troopship to transport soldiers. After the war, Normandy was restored for civilian service. Tragically, in 1956, it collided with a freighter in New York Harbor and sank. The ship remains a notable example of maritime engineering and design from the early 20th century.
