Norma McCorvey
Norma McCorvey was an American woman best known as "Jane Roe" in the landmark 1973 Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide. She became pregnant in the early 1970s and sought an abortion but was unable to obtain one legally in Texas. Her case challenged state laws restricting abortion, leading to a decision that recognized a woman's constitutional right to choose to have an abortion. Later in life, McCorvey publicly changed her stance on abortion, becoming an anti-abortion activist and speaking out against the procedure.
