Norm Borlaug

Norman Borlaug was an American agricultural scientist known as the "father of the Green Revolution." He developed high-yielding and disease-resistant wheat varieties, significantly increasing food production, especially in developing countries. His work helped combat hunger and malnutrition, particularly in Mexico, India, and Pakistan, where food shortages were critical. Borlaug's innovations in crop genetics, agronomy, and agricultural chemistry transformed farming practices, making it possible to grow more food on less land. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1970 for his contributions to improving global food security and is credited with saving millions from starvation.
