Norfolk reed

Norfolk reed, also known as common reed or Phragmites australis, is a tall, grass-like plant that grows in wetlands, such as marshes and the edges of lakes and rivers. It can reach heights of up to 4 meters (13 feet) and has feathery flower clusters. Norfolk reed plays an important ecological role by providing habitat for wildlife, filtering water, and preventing erosion. However, in some areas, it can become invasive, outcompeting native plants and altering local ecosystems. It is valued for its biomass, used in crafts, construction, and bioenergy production.
