Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer
Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is the most common type of lung cancer, accounting for about 85% of cases. It develops when abnormal cells grow uncontrollably in the lung, often originating from the lining of the airways. NSCLC tends to grow more slowly than small cell lung cancer, and its treatment options may include surgery, radiation, chemotherapy, targeted therapy, or immunotherapy, depending on the stage and specific characteristics of the tumor. Early detection improves outcomes, but because symptoms can be subtle initially, regular screening and prompt medical attention are important for high-risk individuals.
