Non-sequitur

A non-sequitur is a logical fallacy where a conclusion does not logically follow from the previous statements or evidence. In other words, the connection between ideas is missing or unclear, making the reasoning invalid. For example, saying "It's raining, so I will wear my hat" is a non-sequitur if wearing a hat has no logical relation to the rain. Non-sequiturs can occur intentionally or unintentionally in conversation, often leading to confusion or miscommunication because the reasoning behind the conclusion is flawed or irrelevant.
