Non-Fungible Token Standards (EIP-721)

EIP-721 is a technical standard for Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) on the Ethereum blockchain. It defines a common set of rules enabling unique digital assets—like digital art, music, or game items—to be created, bought, sold, and transferred securely and consistently across different platforms. Unlike cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin or Ether, each NFT is distinct and indivisible, representing ownership of a specific item. EIP-721 ensures that these tokens have unique identifiers, metadata, and transfer functions, making digital assets easily verifiable and tradable while maintaining their uniqueness.
