Non-Detained Immigrants
Non-detained immigrants are individuals living in a country who are not held in immigration detention centers while awaiting the processing of their immigration status or asylum claims. This can include people who have applied for visas, residency, or protection under humanitarian laws. These immigrants often have the ability to work and engage in community activities while their applications are being reviewed, and they typically must comply with certain legal requirements, such as regularly checking in with immigration authorities. They are at risk of removal but are not currently incarcerated.
