Non-consequentialism

Non-consequentialism is an ethical view that judges whether an action is right or wrong based on the action itself, rather than solely on its outcomes. It emphasizes moral duties, rules, or principles that must be followed regardless of the consequences. For example, a non-consequentialist might argue that lying is always wrong, even if it leads to a good result, because honesty is inherently a moral duty. This approach focuses on doing what's morally right based on principles, not just on whether the outcome benefits everyone.
