Non-caseating granulomas

Non-caseating granulomas are small, organized clusters of immune cells that form in response to inflammation or chronic irritation. Unlike caseating granulomas, which have a cheesy or necrotic center, non-caseating granulomas lack this type of dead tissue. They are often associated with conditions like sarcoidosis, certain infections, or autoimmune diseases. These structures help the body contain or isolate substances it perceives as foreign or harmful, but their presence indicates an ongoing immune response that may require medical evaluation to determine the underlying cause.
