Noise, Vibration, and Harshness (NVH) refer to the sounds and physical sensations experienced inside a vehicle. Noise encompasses all unwanted sounds, such as engine, road, or wind noise. Vibration describes the physical movements felt through the vehicle’s structure or controls. Harshness relates to the overall comfort level, captured in how rough or smooth the ride feels. Engineers work to minimize NVH to improve comfort, making driving more pleasant by reducing loud sounds, unsettling movements, and rough sensations, resulting in a quieter, smoother, and more refined ride experience.
