Noise Cancellation

Noise cancellation is technology used in headphones and microphones to reduce background sounds, making it easier to hear or communicate. It works by using microphones to detect ambient noise and then generating sound waves that are the exact opposite (phase-inverted) of these noises. When these waves meet, they cancel each other out through a process called destructive interference, reducing unwanted sounds. Active noise cancellation is especially effective against consistent, low-frequency noises like engine hums or air conditioning. This technology enhances listening comfort by minimizing distractions, allowing for clearer audio experiences in noisy environments.
