Noûs
Noûs (or Nous) is an ancient Greek concept referring to the divine intellect or mind that governs the cosmos. It represents a form of pure, rational awareness or understanding that orders and explains the structure of reality. Think of it as the universe’s ultimate intellect—an unchanging, intelligent principle that perceives and organizes everything in existence. Philosophers like Plato and Aristotle considered Noûs to be the source of rationality, knowledge, and the intelligibility of the universe, serving as a bridge between the physical world and higher forms of understanding.
