NMES

Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) is a technique that uses controlled electrical impulses to activate muscles externally. By applying these impulses through electrodes on the skin, NMES causes muscles to contract, similar to natural movement. This method is often used in physical therapy to improve muscle strength, prevent atrophy, enhance blood flow, and aid in recovery after injury or surgery. NMES can be tailored to individual needs and helps re-educate muscles that have become weak or less active, supporting overall rehabilitation and functional improvement.
