Petar II Petrović Njegoš was a 19th-century Montenegrin ruler, poet, and philosopher, known for shaping Montenegro’s national identity. As prince-bishop (vladika), he led his people and promoted cultural and spiritual growth. Njegoš is celebrated for his literary masterpiece, the epic poem "Gorski Vojvoda" ("The Mountain Wawes"), which explores themes of heroism, faith, and patriotism. His work reflects deep reflections on leadership, morality, and Balkan history. Njegoš remains a national hero and an influential figure in South Slavic literature and culture.
