Nizam's Rule

The Nizam’s Rule refers to the governance of the Hyderabad State under the Nizam, a monarch who ruled from the late 18th century until 1948. The Nizam was a hereditary ruler with significant authority over administrative, military, and financial matters. His rule combined traditional princely authority with some modern administrative practices. Hyderabad was a wealthy and culturally rich region, but its autocratic governance led to limited political freedoms. In 1948, India integrated Hyderabad into the Indian Union, ending the Nizam’s independent rule.
