Nitrous Oxide Sedation

Nitrous oxide sedation, commonly called "laughing gas," is a mild form of sedation used in dental and medical procedures to help patients relax. When inhaled through a mask, nitrous oxide quickly produces feelings of calm and reduces discomfort without causing deep sleep. It acts on the brain to lessen anxiety and pain, allowing procedures to be more comfortable. The effects wear off rapidly once the gas is no longer inhaled, enabling patients to recover quickly and resume normal activities soon after. It’s a safe, well-established method to help manage fear and pain during treatments.
