Nineveh was an ancient Mesopotamian city, located near modern-day Mosul in Iraq, and served as the capital of the Assyrian Empire. Renowned for its grandeur, it featured impressive architecture, extensive walls, and the legendary Library of Ashurbanipal, which housed ancient texts. Nineveh thrived around 7th century BCE but declined after its destruction in 612 BCE.
