
Nihon Butoh Kyoukai (Japanese Butoh Association)
Nihon Butoh Kyoukai, or the Japanese Butoh Association, is an organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the art form of Butoh, a Japanese dance emerged in the 1950s characterized by its expressive, avant-garde movement and exploration of the human condition. The association supports artists, organizes performances and workshops, and fosters research to develop and sustain Butoh’s unique cultural identity within Japan and internationally. It serves as a platform for innovation, collaboration, and education in this deeply personal and transformative dance form.
