Nigerian National Democratic Party

The Nigerian National Democratic Party (NNDP) was a political organization founded in 1923 during Nigeria's colonial period. It was one of the first political parties advocating for the rights and self-governance of Nigerians, primarily representing educated elites and urban residents. The NNDP aimed to promote local interests, participate in legislative processes, and eventually foster Nigeria’s independence from British rule. Although it was eventually overshadowed by other parties, its formation marked the beginning of organized political activism in Nigeria’s journey toward self-rule.
