Nigerian educational system
The Nigerian educational system is structured into three main levels: basic, secondary, and tertiary. Basic education includes six years of primary school and three years of junior secondary school, culminating in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Senior secondary education lasts three years, ending with the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE). Afterward, students can pursue tertiary education through universities, polytechnics, or colleges of education, offering undergraduate and postgraduate programs. The system aims to develop academic, technical, and vocational skills, preparing students for employment, entrepreneurship, or further studies. Variations exist between public and private institutions, emphasizing quality and access.
