Niger-Congo languages
The Niger-Congo languages form one of the world's largest language families, primarily spoken in sub-Saharan Africa. They include hundreds of languages across West, Central, Southeast, and Southern Africa, with some of the most widely spoken: Yoruba, Igbo, Swahili, and Zulu. These languages share certain grammatical features and vocabulary roots, indicating a common origin. They are known for their use of noun class systems, where words are grouped and marked with specific prefixes.
