Nickel-Cadmium Battery
A Nickel-Cadmium (Ni-Cd) battery is a rechargeable power source that uses nickel oxide hydroxide and cadmium as electrodes. When charging, electrical energy is stored chemically; when discharging, this energy converts back into electrical power. Ni-Cd batteries are known for their durability, ability to deliver high current, and performance in extreme temperatures. However, they contain toxic materials, so proper disposal is important. Commonly used in portable electronics, cordless tools, and emergency equipment, they offer reliable, long-lasting energy but are gradually being replaced by more environmentally friendly alternatives.
