Nichoria
Nichoria was an ancient Greek settlement located in Messenia, known for its role during the Mycenaean period (around 1600–1100 BCE). It features remains of palaces, storage facilities, and fortifications, indicating it was a significant administrative and economic center. Archaeologists have uncovered artifacts and structures that reveal insights into Mycenaean civilization, including governance, trade, and daily life. Although it was eventually abandoned, Nichoria provides valuable understanding of early Greek society and its development during the late Bronze Age.
