Nicene Council

The First Council of Nicaea, held in 325 AD, was an important gathering of Christian leaders to address theological disagreements and unify the church. The main issue was the nature of Jesus Christ and his relationship to God. The council resulted in the Nicene Creed, a statement of faith affirming that Jesus is divine and equal to God the Father. It also established uniform Christian doctrines and practices across the growing Christian community, helping to shape the foundation of Christianity and its beliefs.
