NHS Nightingale Hospital

The NHS Nightingale Hospital was a temporary, large-scale medical facility established in the UK during the COVID-19 pandemic. Built rapidly to increase hospital capacity, it was intended to treat patients with severe Covid-19 symptoms if regular hospitals became overwhelmed. The hospital used existing venues like conference centers, equipped with urgent-care equipment and staffed by healthcare professionals. Although it was prepared for a surge in cases, it was not used extensively for Covid-19 patients, serving instead as a backup. Its creation highlighted the NHS's ability to respond swiftly to public health crises.
