NGSS Lead States

The NGSS Lead States are a group of 20 U.S. states and territories that collaborated to develop the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). These standards provide a consistent framework for science education across the country, emphasizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and understanding core scientific concepts. The Lead States led the way in creating a unified set of expectations to improve science teaching and learning in K–12 schools, ensuring students are better prepared for college, careers, and responsible citizenship in a scientifically complex world.
