NGC 3628
NGC 3628, also known as the Hamburger Galaxy, is a spiral galaxy about 35 million light-years away in the constellation Leo. It features a prominent, distorted structure with long, sweeping arms and a central bar of stars. The galaxy is part of the Leo Triplet, a group of three galaxies interacting gravitationally. Its shape has been influenced by these interactions, leading to a prominent dust lane and areas of active star formation. NGC 3628 is viewed nearly edge-on from Earth, providing a striking appearance with its dark dust lanes silhouetted against the brighter stellar background.
