Nga Puhi

Nga Puhi, also known as Ngāpuhi, is the largest Māori iwi (tribe) in New Zealand, primarily based in the northern North Island. With a rich history dating back over 1,000 years, Nga Puhi played a significant role in New Zealand’s early contact with Europeans and in shaping the country's heritage. The iwi values language, land, and cultural traditions, and actively participates in efforts to preserve and promote Māori identity. Nga Puhi’s influence extends through art, storytelling, and leadership within Māori and broader New Zealand society.
