Newsreel
A newsreel is a series of short, professionally produced video segments that showcased current events, stories, and visual reports, typically shown in theaters before movies from the early 20th century until the 1960s. They provided audiences with visual updates on world and local news, politics, entertainment, and other topics. Newsreels were an important source of visual news before television became widespread. Though no longer common, they played a key role in shaping public awareness by delivering timely, visual coverage of significant events.
