New York Paid Family Leave Law

New York Paid Family Leave (NY PFL) provides eligible employees with wage replacement when they take time off for specific family reasons, such as caring for a new child, a seriously ill family member, or assisting loved ones during military family deployments. Funded through employee payroll deductions, the benefit can cover up to 67% of an employee's average weekly wage (up to a maximum set annually). Employees can take up to 12 weeks of leave in a 52-week period and continue health insurance coverage. The law aims to support work-life balance without jeopardizing income or job security.
