New Stone Age
The New Stone Age, also known as the Neolithic period, represents a significant era in human history, occurring roughly between 10,000 and 4,500 BCE, after the last Ice Age. During this time, humans transitioned from a nomadic lifestyle of hunting and gathering to settling down and farming. This shift led to the domestication of plants and animals, allowing for more stable food sources. The development of crafts, pottery, and permanent homes marked cultural advancements. As communities grew, so did social structures, ultimately paving the way for the rise of civilizations.
