Neuronal Activity

Neuronal activity refers to the process by which nerve cells, or neurons, communicate within the brain and nervous system. Neurons transmit information through electrical impulses called action potentials, which travel along their length. When an impulse reaches the end of a neuron, it releases chemical signals called neurotransmitters into the space between neurons, known as synapses. These signals then influence neighboring neurons' activity, allowing complex processes like thinking, feeling, and moving to occur. Overall, neuronal activity is the fundamental mechanism enabling the brain and nervous system to process and respond to information.
