Neuroma

A neuroma is a benign (non-cancerous) growth of nerve tissue that develops when nerve fibers become thickened or tangled due to injury, irritation, or repetitive pressure. This abnormal nerve growth can cause symptoms like tingling, numbness, burning, or pain in the affected area. Commonly seen in the foot (such as Morton’s neuroma between toes), neuromas result from nerve trauma or chronic compression. Treatment options include conservative measures like padding, orthotics, and medications, or procedures such as injections or surgery if symptoms persist.
